Interlaboratory Testing for the Determination of Metals
The Food Quality and Safety Testing Department of FDA Laboratory LLC participated in interlaboratory testing for the determination of metals using test samples provided by LGC Standards, the United Kingdom’s National Measurement Institute for chemical and bioanalytical measurements.
During interlaboratory proficiency testing (PT), safety-related metals were determined using an inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (ICP–MS) system, including the following analytes:
• Arsenic
• Cadmium
• Lead
• Zinc
Fish products were used as the test matrix.
Interlaboratory testing confirms the laboratory’s impartiality and analytical accuracy.
We congratulate the entire FDA Laboratory team and wish them continued success and further achievements.
